Stop Tagging Your Links With “CLICK HERE!”

The Internet is not just for people with good eyesight. It’s also for people with reduced vision and those who cannot see at all. Therefore I urge everyone to start optimizing content on the Internet for them as well.

Please be mindful of this when you tag your links. No more “click here” tagging, because the software that helps visually impaired people surf the web, will read the links out loud on your page.

That’s why you should let the text in your links tell the viewer what to expect behind the link. And remember to tag the alternative texts of your images with something that actually explains what the pictures are.
